about this

project

Mewbourne College researchers led a first-of-a-kind research project that retrofitted retired oil wells into clean, geothermal energy. In the future, these wells could eventually heat two local schools within the Tuttle School District. To kick off this groundbreaking geothermal research project, Mewbourne College and Blue Cedar Energy co-hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Local, state and national leaders joined together at a well site nestled in a Tuttle, Oklahoma pasture to celebrate the start of the research project.
